Privacy policy
The quilts you design and the fabric photos you add stay on your device. Sashing works with no internet connection, has no accounts and shows no ads. It does send anonymous usage analytics and crash reports, and it talks to Google Play (through RevenueCat) for the subscription. If you use “Missing a block?”, the block name you type is sent as part of the analytics. All of this is described below, with how to have it deleted.
What stays on your device
- Your quilts — the layout, blocks, sizes and names — are stored in the app's private storage on the device.
- Your fabric photos. A photo you take with the camera or pick from your gallery is cropped and kept in the app's private storage. While you are designing an unsaved quilt it sits in a temporary folder that is cleared when the app starts fresh; when you save, it moves to the app's own storage. Fabric photos are never uploaded: no part of the app sends image data anywhere.
- Your settings — inches or centimetres, usable width of fabric, paper size.
- PDFs you export are written to the app's cache on the device. They leave it only if you share one yourself, and then they go wherever you send them.
Android's automatic cloud backup is switched off for this app, so none of this is copied to your Google Drive either. Taking a photo uses your phone's own camera app; Sashing does not hold the camera permission.
What leaves your device
Sashing uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config) to understand whether the app works and which features are used, and RevenueCat with Google Play Billing for the subscription. These send:
- Usage events — for example that a quilt was started and with which size and block, that a block was recoloured or swapped, that a layout setting changed, that a fabric was added and whether it came from the camera, the gallery, a solid or the sample stash, that the yardage or cutting chart was opened, that a quilt was saved, that a PDF was exported and on which paper size, and paywall and purchase events. Fabric photos, quilt names and your measurements are never part of an event.
- A block name you type into “Missing a block?” — the name only, trimmed and cut to at most 40 characters, so we can see which blocks people want. Please do not type anything personal there.
- Crash and performance data — the technical details of a crash, the device model, the Android version and the app version.
- Device and installation identifiers that these services use to tell one installation from another. They are not linked to your name or email. The Advertising ID is removed from this app and is not collected.
- Purchase and subscription status — handled by Google Play and RevenueCat under an anonymous app user ID, so the app knows whether Sashing Pro is active and you can restore it on another device. We never see your payment details.
This data is used to fix faults and to decide what to improve. It is not sold, and it is not used for advertising. The app has no ads.
Processors
- Google LLC — Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config, and Google Play Billing (Firebase privacy, Google privacy policy).
- RevenueCat, Inc. — manages the subscription and its status (RevenueCat privacy policy).
- Cloudflare, Inc. — serves this website.
Deleting your data
This section applies to Sashing: Quilt Design App (dev.machado001.sashing), published on Google Play by machado001.
Data on your device (quilts, fabric photos, settings, exported PDFs): delete a quilt from Your quilts in the app, or remove everything at once from Settings → Apps → Sashing → Storage → Clear storage, or by uninstalling the app. There is no copy anywhere else, so this deletes it completely.
Data held by our processors (usage events including any “Missing a block?” name, crash reports, installation identifiers, and purchase records): email machadowg@gmail.com with the subject “Sashing data deletion”. Because the app has no account, it helps to say roughly when you used the app; we delete the analytics data we can associate with your request and confirm by reply, within 30 days. Firebase Analytics data is also deleted automatically after the retention period set for the project. Purchase records that Google Play and RevenueCat must keep for tax, fraud-prevention and accounting reasons are kept for as long as the law requires, then deleted. Cancelling Sashing Pro is done in Google Play and does not by itself delete data.
Children
Sashing is a quilt planning tool for adults and is not directed at children. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the LGPD or the CCPA to access, correct, delete or export your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to the address below and say which app you are writing about; requests are answered within 30 days.
